Steam plant conversion to natural gas will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent

Penn State works every day to be more ecologically responsible regarding its carbon footprint. With the installation of a natural gas cross-campus pipeline at University Park, the University has taken a huge step in the right direction. The pipeline emanates from a connection point near Centre Furnace Mansion and traverses the rim of the eastern and northern portions of campus before cutting through Curtin Road and ending on Burrowes Road, the home of the West Campus Steam Plant.
