It is not too late to apply to Penn State New Kensington for fall. The campus' admissions office is holding Application Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 18 for high school students and adult learners.

The New Kensington admissions staff will be on-hand to guide prospective students through the application process. Those who complete the application will receive a waiver for the $50 application fee. Additionally, applicants to New Kensington may receive an admissions decision immediately if they bring a high school transcript and their SAT or ACT scores.

Prospective students can hear about what Penn State New Kensington offers, from academics to college life to career choices, directly from students and young alumni with a series of three-minute videos which are posted on the campus homepage. "It's Your Time" is a Penn State initiative that features five vignettes that extoll the advantages of enrolling at the New Kensington campus. Students and alumni talk about career opportunities, education paths, classes, and student life at the campus. Even the iconic Nittany Lion gets some screen time, hosting a tour of the campus.

Parents of prospective Penn State New Kensington students have an opportunity to learn about college admissions and financial aid at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the campus Conference Center. The program, "For Parents Only," explores the college admissions process from a parent's perspective. Topics include tips on deciding what college is a good fit for a child, admissions requirements, and financing a college education. In addition, the admissions staff will explain how financial aid awards are determined, and discuss the available types of financial aid. The event is sponsored by the offices of admissions and financial aid at the New Kensington campus. Light refreshments will be served.
