Penn State Behrend's fall career fair draws record numbers

A total of 1,234 students and 176 companies attended Penn State Behrend's Fall Career and Internship Fair, which was organized by the Academic and Career Planning Center and held in the campus' Junker Center. In terms of both students and companies, it was the largest career fair in the history of Penn State Behrend.

Behrend senior goes from high school dropout to collegiate award winner

More than 20 years ago, Margaret Eimers dropped out of high school during her sophomore year after she failed a class and became fed up with school.

Now, in a few days, the Erie native is about to walk in her first commencement ceremony. She will graduate with a 3.94 grade-point average and bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. How’s that for a turnabout?

Students, recruiters attend Penn State Behrend career fair

More than 140 companies attended the Oct. 3 Career and Internship Fair at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Thirty set aside time afterward to interview students for full-time, part-time, co-op and internship positions. "I can't get engineering graduates with the qualifications we see here," said Dave O'Neal, the engineering director for DLH Industries, which makes plastic fittings for automotive companies.
