Monk to facilitate 'Lessons Learned' on March 30

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — “Lessons Learned”  will be the theme of a story slam from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in 16 Borland on the University Park campus of Penn State. Pamela Monk, senior lecturer in journalism in the College of Communications at Penn State, will facilitate the event. The story slam is in response to the successful storytelling workshop hosted by The Moth, which promotes storytelling through a variety of programs, in fall 2016.

Guests who would like to participate are encouraged to prepare a 5-minute story about new discoveries, hard-earned wisdom, getting schooled, and bad education. These tales of breakthroughs and break-downs on the path to knowledge will help create an atmosphere for discussion and learning. Listeners are also welcome to attend.

The Arts & Design Research Incubator (ADRI) provides support for high-impact arts and design research projects. Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at 16 Borland.

All events are free and open to the public, but some do require registration, as space is limited. For more information, visit http://adri.psu.edu or call 814-863-5126. Connect with the ADRI at www.facebook.com/PennStateADRI.
