Chemical Engineering graduate student awarded STLE scholarship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Ala' Al-Azizi, a chemical engineering graduate student, has been named one of five recipients of a 2014 scholarship from the Philadelphia section of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE).

John Irwin and Jillian Beyer, 2014 scholarship co-chairs, cited Al-Azizi for her "combination of GPA, significant accomplishments, persuasive recommendation letter and work in the field of tribology."

Al-Azizi will receive $2,000 and a certificate during an awards ceremony in August. She is also invited to present her work at a future STLE meeting.

Founded in 1944, the STLE advances the science of tribology and the practice of lubrication engineering in order to foster innovation, improve the performance of equipment and products, conserve resources and protect the environment.
