Training program for young athletes to begin July 14

The Penn State Hershey University Fitness Center will offer an injury prevention and sports performance program for young athletes. Sportsmetrics is a scientifically proven program that improves performance for sports like soccer, basketball and volleyball, while reducing the risk for serious knee injuries, such as anterior cruciate ligament tears, that are associated with sports participation.

Led by trainers certified in Sportsmetrics, the six-week program includes a biomechanical evaluation, training three times a week (from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and a final biomechanical evaluation at the end of the sessions. Class size is small so participants can count on individualized attention.

The summer session begins on Monday, July 14. The cost for the program is $250 if paid in advance and $270 if paid the first day of the program. For more information, visit PennStateHershey.org/sportsmetrics.
