Student diversity show to be held Jan. 17 in Hershey

The Multicultural Awareness Club (MAC) at Penn State College of Medicine will celebrate the beauty of and share appreciation for different cultures from around the world at the 2014 Cultural Diversity Show from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in the Hershey Middle School auditorium. Acts will include performances from medical and graduate students, and faculty. There will be a pre-show social hour starting at 5:30 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria. Hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and light dinner will be served during the pre-show social hour and during intermission.

Tickets will be on sale in the Rotunda Café at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting Jan. 6. The cost is $10 per person if the ticket is bought between Monday, Jan. 6, and Tuesday, Jan. 14. From Wednesday, Jan. 15, to Friday, Jan. 17, tickets will cost $12. Tickets will be $15 at the door the night of the event.

Also, during the pre-show social hour and the intermission, tickets for a chance to win four Hershey Bear tickets and a parking pass will be on sale for $5 each. College of Medicine students will receive one wellness point for attending. Proceeds from the Cultural Diversity Show will raise money for Kuska (http://www.kuskaperu.org/), an education initiative in Peru; and Rebuild Cebu (http://rebuildcebu.org/), a typhoon relief organization. Leaders from each of these organizations will be present at the show.
