Trip to U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum being organized for students

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., is planned for Saturday, Jan. 18, as part the activities of the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee and the series of ongoing programs related to this year’s Penn State Reads common book, "Beautiful Souls."

Registration for the trip will begin on Monday, Dec. 9, in Room 209 HUB-Robeson Center, and will continue through Friday, Dec. 13. A $10 deposit is required upon registration, which will be returned to students if they attend the trip.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

-- 6:30 a.m. – Leave the front entrance of the HUB-Robeson Center
-- 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Tour the Museum
-- 3 to 6 p.m. – Free time in D.C.
-- 6 p.m. – Return to State College

The trip is being sponsored by the Center for Character, Conscience and Social Responsibility; Hillel; Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee; Presidential Leadership Academy; Residence Life; and the Schreyer Honors College.
