Intro to Hoop Fitness Workshops at the UFC

Join Jennifer Shaw, Hoopnotica certified instructor, as she guides participants through the basics of hula hooping for fun and fitness in a new program at the Penn State Hershey University Fitness Center. Using adult-sized hula hoops, this beginner-friendly workshop will teach hooping skills both on the body and off the body, incorporating every muscle group from head to toe. Waist hooping alone can burn 300-600 calories an hour, tones the core, and generates joy in a way no other workout will. This is play that just happens to double as fitness.

No experience required. Body type and level of grace or coordination will not affect the ability to hoop. Everyone can hoop given the proper equipment and instruction. This workshop is offered at two different times (10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m.) on Saturday, Nov. 2.
