Videoconference on intellectual property planned for faculty, graduate students

On Friday, Oct. 25, BioStrategy Partners in collaboration with the Penn State College of Medicine Office of Technology Development will present an intellectual property primer via video conference, geared towards investigators and graduate students. This session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Hershey Center for Applied Research, Room 1101, and will cover the first-to-file patent system, the timing surrounding in publications, patenting and more.

Over the course of the hour, the panel will discuss the contents of an application and how to file one, the importance of organization with Material Transfer Agreements materials, and how to stay on top of obligations for federal funding and other outside funding courses.

The second in a six-part series, the program will feature a discussion with panelists Patrick J. Kelly of Riverside Law and Thomas Sossong of Universal Display Corp. These experts are well-versed in patenting intellectual property and are eager to share their knowledge with aspiring entrepreneurs.
