Men's basketball hosts Blue vs. White scrimmage Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Excitement is mounting for the 2013-14 Penn State men's basketball season and Saturday (Oct. 12) -- prior to the Penn State-Michigan Homecoming football game -- is the first chance to get a glimpse of the Nittany Lions. The team will host an intra-squad scrimmage in the Bryce Jordan Center, with doors opening at 10 a.m. The blue vs. white event is free to the public and features general admission for all fans.

Throughout the scrimmage, fans will be able to participate in contests on the court and win Penn State basketball prizes and following, players will be available for autographs on the main concourse across from Portal 23. This will be the first chance to pick up a copy of the official 2013-14 men's basketball schedule poster.

There is no special parking available for the event; however, tailgating lots open at 8 a.m. Saturday and the blue and white CATA bus loop will drop fans directly right at the BJC.

After an exhibition vs. Northwood (Fla.) Nov. 3, the Lions open the season Nov. 9 against Wagner and have five of their first six games of the year at the Bryce Jordan Center. Single-game tickets for 16 home games are scheduled to go on sale next week with tickets for the Dec. 14 matchup vs. Princeton in Rec Hall already going quickly. Information on season tickets, mini-plans and single-game options is available from the PSU ticket office at 1-800-NITTANY.
