Sponsors and participants requested for United Way Golf Tournament

The 16th annual Centre County United Way Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Penn State Golf Courses. Lunch and dinner will be provided, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Lunch will be at the golf course, with the evening buffet dinner at the Nittany Lion Inn.

The tournament raises funds for the 37 Centre County United Way (CCUW) partner agencies, in an effort to support local communities and enhance overall community spirit. The mission of the Centre County United Way is to improve lives by prioritizing needs and mobilizing human and financial resources to positively impact the education, financial stability, and physical and emotional health of individuals throughout Centre County. CCUW partner agencies include the Boy Scouts of America, American Red Cross, Bridge of Hope, Centre County Women's Resource Center, the Food Bank and other organizations across the region.

The cost per golfer is $125 and includes greens fees, cart, gift bag and dinner. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $25 each. The tournament is a four-person scramble format. The price for sponsors is $5,000 for a platinum sponsor, $3,000 for a gold sponsor, $1,500 for a silver sponsor and $100 for a tee or green sponsors. Prize and gift bag sponsors also are requested.

The Centre County United Way Golf Tournament is coordinated by volunteer staff in Information Technology Services and the Penn State Golf Courses.
