Volunteers needed for student-run LionCare clinic

LionCare is a nonprofit organization run by Penn State College of Medicine medical students that provides free health services to the underserved of Harrisburg. Clinics are available in various fields such as neurology, psychiatry, orthopedics, women’s health and dermatology.

During the 2013 summer session, 24 Penn State Hershey physicians volunteered their services. Forty student volunteers put in a total of 309 service hours, and 121 patients were seen. The fall session of the clinic began Aug. 15.
