Kappa Delta Pi chapter lauded for book drive

Penn State Altoona's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi honor society has been selected to receive a 2013 Literacy Alive! Project Achievement Award from the Kappa Delta Pi Educational Foundation.

For the project, chapter members assisted a local Boy Scout in collecting books for WorldWide Book Drive, a philanthropic organization dedicated to collecting and distributing books to global communities in need.

The chapter's goal was to collect 1,200 books but far surpassed that by bringing in a total of 7,150 in less than one semester.

The chapter will receive an award check for $250 in September and be recognized at the premier level.
