Men's lacrosse continues to rise in national rankings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Enjoying a six-game winning streak, Penn State men's lacrosse continues to climb in the national rankings. The Nittany Lions moved up two spots in both national polls, earning 10th in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, while checking in at 11th in the USILA Coaches Poll.

Penn State (8-3, 3-0 CAA) has steadily crept north from a low of 19th in the media poll on March 11 and March 18 to 10th this week. In the coaches poll, Penn State hit a low of 18th on March 11 and has made it seven spots to 11th.

During the six-game winning streak the Nittany Lions have top 25 wins over then-No. 7 Bucknell and this past weekend against then-No. 13 Drexel. In both those games, Penn State broke extensive winning streaks; seven for Bucknell and four for Drexel.

The Nittany Lions host another hot team on Saturday in the form of Towson. The game, which will be nationally televised live on Big Ten Network, will kick off at 1 p.m. The Tigers have won their past four and are tied with Penn State for first in the CAA with a 3-0 record. Towson is receiving votes in both polls this week.
