Hazardous driving conditions, use extreme caution

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The National Weather Service has announced severe weather across Pennsylvania for tonight. Forecasters predict potential hazards associated with this storm including snow accumulation, winds, ice and falling temperatures. Penn State faculty, staff and students are urged to use caution when driving or walking.

Near University Park, State College Borough has declared a snow emergency. All vehicles must be removed from borough streets until the snowfall has stopped and the streets have been plowed to the curb. As of the time of this announcement, Route 322 near Tussey Mountain was closed down to one lane due to an overturned tractor trailer. Motorists are asked to avoid that area if possible.
