Visit Penn State Hershey at the Central PA Health & Wellness Fair

Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Center for Nutrition and Activity Promotion (CNAP) have teamed with the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society and state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to promote healthy, active lifestyles in central Pennsylvania. A free Health and Wellness Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Hershey Lodge.

The event is headlined by Miss Pennsylvania Jordyn Colao and local DJ and fitness advocate R.J. Harris. Health screenings will be provided by Medical Center nurse volunteers. CNAP will promote its Kohl’s Healthy Choices for Healthy Families program, which focuses on eating healthy and getting active. Youth and families who visit the exhibit are encouraged to get active and test their basic nutrition knowledge.

The Penn State Nittany Lion will participate in the “Running of the Mascots,” a 1-mile family fun run/walk that will include 10 local mascots who will run or walk and cheer on race participants. This family friendly activity is an opportunity to promote an active lifestyle.

Cost is $5 per person or $10 per family of four ($5 additional per family member after four). The race will be held on the gravel track along Rt. 322 on the Penn State Hershey Campus.

Free activities will be held for all ages including: Hershey Track & Field activities, Hershey Chocolate Milk Refueling Station, diVVy Athletics Soccer Challenge, Giant Food Stores healthy cooking demonstration, additional health screenings provided by Holy Spirit Health System and Pinnacle Health System, fitness demonstrations from CrossFit Hershey, Zumba Fitness, PA Dance Sport Latin and ballroom dancing, yoga, gymnastics, karate, and dance.
