Beaver, Penn College to offer ShaleTEC course

The Shale Training & Education Center (ShaleTEC), a collaboration between Pennsylvania College of Technology and Penn State Extension, will be offering the Shale Exploration, Development and Production course at Penn College and Penn State Beaver in the coming months. 

ShaleTEC was stablished to serve as the central resource for workforce development and education needs of the community and the oil and natural gas industry. The course uses current science, blended with real-world experience, to answer common questions about all aspects of shale development including:

• Current and future trends
• Business development patternsh
• Shale economics
• Geology
• Leasing
• Drilling practices
• Reservoir stimulation and well completion 
• Hydraulic fracturing
• Production
• Supply chain
• Promising practices in shale development

This course offers new information for individuals at all experience levels. Each session runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and costs $279.
