Music professor featured on BBC Radio

University Park, Pa. — Maureen Carr, distinguished professor of music at Penn State, was featured in a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Radio Four program on the sketchbook for Igor Stravinsky's ballet Pulcinella Tuesday (April 22) morning. The program, which will be repeated at 10:30 a.m. EST on Saturday, April 26, can be heard at via the "Listen Again" link through the week.

The program was recorded at the BBC studios on March 13, 2008. Other commentators include program presenter and mystery writer Frances Fyfield; Barry Wordsworth, conductor of the orchestra for the Royal Ballet; and Nicolas Bell, curator of music manuscripts for the British Library. The Pulcinella sketchbook is featured in Carr's forthcoming book, Stravinsky's Pulcinella (1920): a Facsimile Edition of the Sources and the Sketches, to be published by A-R Editions. In addition to the sketchbook from the British Library, this book will also include facsimiles of manuscripts from the Stravinsky Archive at the Paul Sacher Stiftung in Basel, Switzerland.
