The Penn State Engineering Society is seeking College of Engineering alumni to help with the 2009 Penn State Rube Goldberg Machine Contest on Feb. 28 at the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park.
The contest challenges student teams from engineering-affiliated clubs to design and build a machine that completes a simple task in a complex, wacky way.
Engineering alumni are needed to serve as judges and team liaisons on contest day. The time commitment for judges will be from noon to approximately 4:30 p.m. Team liaisons (basically go-fers who help while the teams are setting up) will need to report by 9 a.m. Liaisons will be free to leave once the contest starts at 2 p.m., although they are welcome to stay and watch the fun. A pizza lunch will be provided for all volunteers and student team members at noon.
To sign up or ask questions, contact Jane Harris at jharris@engr.psu.edu or 814-863-2132.
