Garoian to be next speaker in Comparative Literature series

University Park, Pa. -- Charles Garoian, professor of art education and director of Penn State's School of Visual Arts, will speak on "Drawing Blinds: Art Practice as Prosthetic Visuality," at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in 102 Kern Building, University Park, as the next speaker in the Comparative Literature Luncheon series. The series is a weekly informal lunchtime gathering of students, faculty and other members of the University community. Each week there is a short (20 minute) presentation on a topic related to any humanities discipline.

Jonathan Eburne (jpe11@psu.edu) is the coordinator for the series this semester. Participants can bring lunch or buy a lunch tray in Kern Cafeteria (next door) and bring it into 102. Coffee and tea are provided at no charge in 102. The speaker will begin at about 12:30 p.m. Allowing a few minutes for discussion, the event will conclude in time for classes that meet at 1:25 p.m.
