Entries invited for the 2009 Undergraduate Exhibition

University Park, Pa. -- Poster and performance entries are invited for the 2009 Undergraduate Exhibition to be held Wednesday, April 8, on the University Park campus. The deadline for entries is Friday, March 6.

This annual event communicates and celebrates the participation of undergraduate students from across the University in research and creative endeavors. Undergraduate students from all Penn State campuses may enter poster or performance presentations to showcase their work to a general audience. The exhibition is open to the public.

Posters may be entered in the arts and humanities, engineering, health and life sciences, physical sciences, public scholarship, and social and behavioral sciences (including business) or as course-based projects in any discipline. The performance category includes entries in music, theatre, dance, poetry and other forms of performance art.

Monetary prizes are awarded to the top entries in each category. The Gerard A. Hauser Award, a $500 prize, is given to the exhibition entry judged best overall.

The Phi Kappa Phi Awards for Excellence for Juniors are sponsored by the Penn State Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. The awards recognize an outstanding junior poster entry in each of three areas: Arts and Humanities; Sciences and Engineering; and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Each award is accompanied by a $250 prize.

Penn State University Libraries has created the Award for Information Literacy to recognize scholarly work based on a foundation of careful background research and literature review. First ($150), second ($125) and third ($100) place prizes are available.
