Researchers seek cheese/cholesterol study participants

Penny Kris-Etherton, distinguished professor of nutrition at Penn State, and her research team are conducting a study that examines the effects of different types of cheese on cholesterol. They are looking for healthy, non-smoking adults aged 21 to 50 years with mildly elevated LDL cholesterol who are not taking cholesterol-lowering medication.

On a daily basis over eight weeks, subjects will be provided with 3 ounces of cheese to be eaten as a part of their normal diets. At the completion of the study all participants will receive lab results and a $20 gift card to the Penn State Creamery. If you are interested in learning more about the study, call (866) PSU-DIET -- (866) 778-3438 -- or e-mail Marcella Smith at mds34@psu.edu, mention the cheese study and leave your name and a contact number.
