New reference librarian comes to Penn State Fayette

Carrie Girton is Penn State Fayette's new reference and instruction librarian. Girton adds a new levels of expertise to the library staff at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, to the benefit of students and library patrons. In her new role, Girton works with students and faculty with research resources for academic pursuits, but also helps anyone in need of assistance in tracking down books, articles and other reference information.

"I look forward to building connections with students, faculty, staff and members of the local community. I want to help them connect to the library’s vast resources," Girton said.
 
Previously, Girton worked as an instruction library graduate assistant and reference library graduate assistant at Northern Kentucky University. She also edited six quarterly products for Standard Publishing, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. A member of the American Library Association, Girton received her master’s degree in library science from University of Kentucky.      
 
The Penn State Fayette library is open to the public. Community residents can easily obtain a library card and have access to the books in the Fayette campus library, the Penn State library system and the reference section. Individuals may also get a day pass for computer use. Girton said she hopes more people in the community will discover Penn State Fayette’s excellent library and said she will be there to assist anyone with questions.
