On-campus hearing services now covered by Highmark

Penn State’s Speech and Hearing Clinic was recently approved as a provider of audiology services for Highmark insurance. Practitioners in the clinic, located on the north side of campus in 110 Ford Building, provide an assortment of hearing evaluations and consultation for hearing loss treatment.

“Untreated hearing loss can affect your ability to understand speech and can negatively impact your social and emotional well-being,” said Judy Creuz, instructor in communication sciences and disorders and audiologist at the Speech and Hearing Clinic. “The good news is that there is help for people with hearing loss, but the first step is to visit an audiologist, who can evaluate your hearing and determine the type and degree of hearing loss.”

Penn State’s Highmark employee health plan has a $700 benefit to help with the cost of hearing aids, if needed.

Penn State employees and their family members are eligible to receive these services. To make an appointment, call the Speech and Hearing Clinic at 814-865-5414.
