Books moving in Pattee Library

Books in Pattee Library are in the process of being rearranged. Currently, most of the movement of books and journals is occurring on the second floor of Pattee's central stacks.

The rearrangement will create a simpler arrangement for the Pattee stacks, with one sequence from bottom to top; facilitate the creation of the first floor Knowledge Commons without reducing the building's capacity for books; and will relieve overcrowding in the stacks by moving books to remote storage if they are available electronically or seldom used.

Future parts of this project will affect other floors of the Pattee stacks throughout the coming year. Visitors should watch for signs and news releases.

For help locating materials, users may ask at the Arts and Humanities Reference Desk, on the second floor of Pattee Library, or the Lending Services Desk, on the first floor of Pattee Library. They may also use the "I Want it" button in The CAT to request items from the stacks.
