Students join adult student society

Thirty-two outstanding adult students from the area were inducted into the Penn State York Chapter (Eta Xi Chapter) of Alpha Sigma Lambda during ceremonies 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center. Alpha Sigma Lambda is a national honor society that recognizes the unique achievements demonstrated by adult students in higher education programs. Students inducted into the organization must have a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher.

Penn State York began a chapter in 1991 to recognize the accomplishments of its growing adult student population. The adult student population at the campus is about 30 percent.
