Combustion talk to focus on low emissions technologies

Timothy Snyder, manager of Pratt & Whitney's combustor aero division, will present "Pratt & Whitney Low Emissions Technologies" at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in C213 Coal Utilization Laboratory on Penn State's University Park campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

Snyder's discussion will center on how the next generation of aircraft gas turbines have been developed and the emission and performance improvements that will be gained.

A Penn State mechanical engineering alumnus, Snyder has 25 years of industry and academic experience developing combustion systems and combustion technologies.

Snyder's presentation is part of the Penn State Combustion Seminar Series and sponsored by the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, Propulsion Engineering Research Center, the Center for Advanced Power Generation and the Energy Institute.
