The Pediatric Trauma Injury Prevention Program at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital is offering two youth sports safety clinics to middle- and high-school athletes. Participants will be joined by experts from Penn State Hershey Medical Center’s Sports Medicine program, Department of Family and Community Medicine, and the Concussion Program for an informative program offered 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 30, at the University Conference Center on the Penn State Hershey campus.
The topics covered will include:
-- How to prevent sports injuries
-- Concussion prevention, screening, and management
-- Proper hydration and stretching
Registration for the program begins at 5:30 p.m. each day. There is no cost to attend, and light refreshments will be provided. To register, call 717-531-SAFE (7233).
