Nursing students team with medical center to provide free services

Penn State Mont Alto nursing students are providing free blood pressure screenings at Fulton Medical Center every Tuesday throughout the spring semester.

The students are completing required clinical hours at the medical center. Along with their clinical adviser, they came up with the concept for what they are calling "Blue and White Tuesdays." Every Tuesday, with the exception of Feb. 19 and March 5, the students are offering free blood pressure screenings. They also are compiling prescription medication information for visitors to keep in their wallets in case of emergency or to have ready to review with physicians. The students ask that visitors bring all prescription bottles they are currently taking; they will write them down.

The Fulton County Medial Center is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation which owns and operates an 88-bed critical access hospital and skilled nursing care facility. It is located at 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, Pa. For more information, call Misty Hershey at 717-485-6115.
