Penn State Hershey hosts Heart Month events

Learn hands-only CPR

The Feb. 12 meeting of the Healing Hearts support group at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will feature instruction and demonstration of hands-only CPR and door prizes, including cook books and CPR Anytime Kits. While the Healing Hearts support group is usually meant for adults who are living with heart disease (including those with heart failure, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and congenital heart disease) and their family members, the February meeting is open to anyone interested in learning the valuable skill of hands-only CPR. The group meets in dining rooms A and B at the Medical Center at 6 p.m. To register, call 1-800-243-1455.

Free Heart Failure Program

“Success with Heart Failure” will be presented by specialists from the heart failure and electrophysiology programs at Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute. This community program will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey. Registration is required. Call 1-800-243-1455 to register.

Go Red for Women premiere party

Wear your best red dress and come out for an evening of fun and health at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Antique Auto Museum at Hershey. Healthy cooking demonstrations will be offered, a special screening of the American Heart Association’s new “Just a Little Heart Attack” video will be shown, and a special, one-of-a kind red dress will be shown and worn by Jordyn Colao, Miss Pennsylvania 2012.
