OPP workers spreading compost over freshly planted tulips

Signs of spring are emerging at Penn State and campus will soon be awash in color. Theresa Barger, front, a horticulture technician with the Office of Physical Plant, spread compost over freshly planted tulips this morning (April 1) with her assistant Monica Veres at the Allen Street Gates at University Park. At the gate, 2,100 tulips of the Tulip Roi du Midi and Stunning Apricot varieties were planted and covered with compost collected campus wide. The flowers are expected to bloom by mid-May.
