Andrew Patterson-Life Sciences-001

Andrew Patterson, assistant professor of molecular toxicology, Penn State, is part of the team that is investigating how tempol, an anti-oxidant, affects the biological environment of the body -- the microbiome -- and could lead to treatments for obesity, among other conditions. Patterson said that mice that were fed tempol were significantly less obese than mice fed a similar diet without the drug.
