Men's basketball to face Charlotte in Charleston Classic opener
The Penn State men's basketball team will open play in the 2014 Charleston Classic by taking on Charlotte at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 on ESPNU. The remaining teams in the field include Akron, Cornell, Drexel, Miami (Fla.), South Carolina and Southern California.

Lady Lions announce Big Ten schedule
The three-time defending Big Ten Champion Penn State Lady Lions have revealed their 2014-15 Big Ten Conference schedule. The Lady Lions will begin their quest for a fourth consecutive Big Ten regular-season title at Iowa on Sunday, Dec. 28.

Brianna Banks added to Lady Lions roster
Penn State Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington announced the addition of UConn transfer Brianna Banks (Newnan, Ga./Fayette County) to the Lady Lion roster. Banks, who will sit out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer rules, will have one year of eligibility remaining when she begins competing for the Lady Lions in 2015-16.

-- The Big Ten men's soccer coaches have spoken and tabbed newcomer Maryland the preseason favorite followed by Michigan State, Michigan and two-time defending Big Ten winners Penn State in fourth. Three Nittany Lions -- Owen Griffith (Lewisburg, Pa.), 2013 Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year Andrew Wolverton (Atlanta, Ga.) and Mikey Minutillo (San Jose, Calif.) -- were tabbed Big Ten preseason players to watch.

Laaribi joins men's tennis program
The Penn State men's tennis team announced Aug. 13 that Aws Laaribi (Rye, N.Y.) is joining the program. Laaribi joins the Nittany Lions after playing his freshman season at Wake Forest, where he helped the Demon Deacons reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Laaribi has three years of eligibility remaining.

"Huddle with the Faculty" every home football Saturday morning and get food for thought before heading off to the game. Admission is free and open to the public. Four former Lehigh Valley cyclists take top honors at national championship
Four former Penn State Lehigh Valley cyclists left their mark at the Giordana Velodrome at USA Cycling's Elite Track National Championships held Aug. 12-17 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Bobby Lea, Mandy Marquardt, Matt Baranoski and David Espinoza took top honors and smashed track records in a number of events during the competition.
