Penn State's new athletic director is a familiar face in the Pac-12
In a Saturday afternoon (July 26) press conference, Penn State President Eric Barron introduced the University's new athletic director, Sandy Barbour — a 30-year veteran in leadership positions within athletics departments at several major institutions. Barbour will begin her tenure as AD on Aug. 18.

Penn State and Drexel to begin two-year series at PPL Center
The Penn State men's basketball team begins a two-game off-campus series with Drexel by taking on the Dragons Saturday, Dec. 20 at the soon-to-open PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., the teams announced Thursday in conjunction with the arena. The game is the first college basketball game to be announced for the Lehigh Valley's new multi-purpose venue.

Lady Lions reveal non-conference schedule
The three-time defending Big Ten Champion Penn State Lady Lions will open their 2014-15 slate with the Preseason WNIT against Towson on Friday, Nov. 14 at noon as part of the 12-game non-conference schedule.

College Colors Day competition under way
The College Colors Day Spirit Cup competition begins on Friday, Aug. 1 and continues throughout the month until Thursday, Aug. 28. This year's competition will be scored via fan engagement on social media through a point system. Penn State supporters that share school-spirited images using the hashtags #psu and #collegecolors on Twitter and Instagram earn points for the university.

Glon tabbed to lead fencing program as new head coach
Wieslaw 'Wes' Glon, a 29-year veteran on the Penn State coaching staff, has been named the Head Coach for the Penn State men's and women's fencing teams. Glon led Penn State to the NCAA title this past year as the interim head coach.

Lady Lions to Help the Spikes "Paint the Park Pink" on Aug. 3
The Penn State Lady Lions and the Pink Zone at Penn State will help the State College Spikes as they "Paint the Park Pink" for breast cancer awareness on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 6:05 p.m. against Hudson Valley.

Dream of young boy turning Penn State into 'Goalkeeper U'
When Mack Brady, 8, died suddenly on New Year's Eve 2012, his parents wanted to honor his dream of becoming a Penn State goalkeeper. Elizabeth and Christian Brady established the Mack Brady Soccer Fund benefitting Penn State Men's soccer and the goalkeeper program in particular.

Eighteen swimmers receive Scholar All-America honors
Eighteen members of the Penn State men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been named College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-Americans,. Six members of the women's program received first team honors. The women also earned the Team Scholar All-America award.

Fifteen Nittany Lions earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors
A total of 15 Nittany Lion track and field athletes have earned All-Academic recognition from the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Assocation (USTFCCCA). The Penn State women's squad also earned All-Academic team honors, earning a cumulative GPA of 3.32.

Lacrosse trio win silver medals at FIL World Championships
The 2014 FIL World Championships concluded Saturday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. as Canada emerged victorious, 8-5, over the United States. Nittany Lion men's head coach Jeff Tambroni, 2006 graduate Greg Gurenlian and 2009 graduate Drew Adams represented the American squad that earned silver.
