Robert Novak was the first of four internationally known figures to visit Penn State University Park as part of the 2004-05 Distinguished Speaker Series. Novak spoke to a crowd of hundreds on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Eisenhower Auditorium. The series also will feature Howard Dean, a former governor and candidate for Democratic nomination for president, in October; Soledad O'Brien, an award-winning journalist, in January; and Alice Walker, American poet, novelist and activist, in March. As a founding author of the nationally syndicated "Inside Report," Novak has had a profound influence on generations of politicians and journalists.
