MLK Peace March 001
Nia Spicer, a Penn State senior majoring in biobehavioral health, kicked off the Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative peace march with 'Lift Every Voice and Sing' on Jan. 24 at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the University Park campus. Following the song Penn State students accompanied by community members set off on the peach march that began at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center and made it's way through campus.

Penn State students participating in a peace march to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. paused at a plaque in front of Recreation Hall on the University Park campus to read a brief description of the evening in 1965 when Dr. King spoke to a capacity crowd inside the venue. The peace march was part of Penn State's 2013 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Week events.

Penn State students took part in a candlelight peach march on the evening of Jan. 24 to honor the memory and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The peace march was part of Penn State's 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Week and was sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity.

Mrs. Amy Warner's fourth grade class at Radio Park Elementary School in State College recited their poem to honor Martin Luther King Jr. as part of the 2013 MLK, Jr. Community Showcase on Jan. 24 at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Penn State's University Park campus. The showcase displayed artwork, essays and poems submitted by K through 12 students in the State College area that honored the memory of Dr. King. Mrs. Warner's class received the award for the poem that was "Most Expressive."

Marissa Willson, a student at Mount Nittany Middle School in State College, read her award winning essay honoring the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. at the MLK Jr. commemoration week community showcase and art exhibit on Jan. 24 at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Penn State's University Park campus. The showcase displayed artwork, poetry and essays honoring Dr. King submitted by K through 12 students in the State College area.

Artwork submitted by elementary school children throughout the State College area was on display on Jan. 24 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Showcase at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on Penn State's University Park campus. The showcase displayed art, poems and essays from K through 12 student in the region that honored the memory of Dr. King and his accomplishments.
