"My definition of equity as it relates to public spaces: all people, regardless of their place in society, have a right to safe and easy access to high quality, attractive, safe, clean, sustainable and resilient public spaces, which reflect their communities, values and needs. ... This to me is equity and public space," he said.

Morelli, a 1998 Penn State graduate, talked about her struggles as a wounded veteran and her fight to recover from injuries sustained from an IED explosion in Afghanistan.

John Urschel, a mathematician and retired professional football player, presented "Order and Chaos" at the Penn State Forum on Feb. 20 at the Nittany Lion Inn. Urschel, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics while playing football at Penn State, played three seasons for the Baltimore Ravens before retiring from the NFL in 2017 to focus full time on earning his doctorate in mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

AAUW State College announces centennial gift for Penn State Forum

In recognition of its 100th anniversary, AAUW State College, an organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research, has established the AAUW State College Centennial Speaker Endowment at Penn State. The $100,000 endowment will help underwrite the costs of bringing speakers who have made significant contributions to women’s equity to the Penn State Forum Speaker Series.
