Academic integrity expert to deliver webinar before Penn State visit

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State faculty have the opportunity to hear from an academic integrity expert ahead of her scheduled visit to the University Park campus.

Tricia Bertram Gallant will present “Fostering Academic Integrity: Research-Based Strategies,” during a webinar noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, presented by the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence and the Smeal College of Business. Registration information can be found here.

Bertram Gallant is director of the Academic Integrity Office at UC San Diego. She is also on the board of the International Center for Academic Integrity and posts weekly on her ICAI blog. She is the author of “Academic Integrity in the Twenty-First Century: A Teaching and Learning Imperative,” and co-author of “Cheating in School: What We Know and What We Can Do,” and is a contributing author to several others.

Her webinar will conveniently take place on Oct. 16, the 4th International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating.

Later this month Bertram Gallant will visit the University Park campus to present “Designing Courses to Encourage Integrity & Learning” on Oct. 21, though organizers said the event is filling up quickly. The event will be cosponsored by the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence and the Smeal College of Business.
