Men’s basketball

St. Mary’s College (Maryland) 95, Penn State Altoona 66

Junior guard Marquis White (Mims, Florida/Astronaut/McCook C.C.) led the Lions with 14 points in the team’s first game of the season at St. Mary’s College on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Men’s soccer

Penn State Harrisburg 4, Penn State Altoona 1

(ECAC Division III Championship Tournament, first round)

Junior midfielder Seth Murrelle (Sayre, Pennsylvania/Sayre) scored his seventh goal of the season for the Lions in a loss to Penn State Harrisburg in the first round of the ECAC Division III Championship Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12. Penn State Altoona was eliminated from the postseason with the defeat.

Men’s swimming

Salisbury University 140, Penn State Altoona 64

Sophomore John Polidoro (Bensalem, Pennsylvania/Holy Ghost Preparatory) won the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 29.56, and freshman Tom Weir (Greensburg, Pennsylvania/Hempfield) finished first in the 100-meter individual medley with a time of 1:12.64 to represent the Lions’ two individual first-place finishes in the team’s meet at Salisbury University on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Women’s bowling

1 win, 7 losses; fifth place finish

(AMCC Round Robin Weekend #1)

In day one of the AMCC Round Robin #1 on Saturday, Nov. 12, Penn State Altoona sophomore Nicole Watt (Altoona, Pennsylvania/Bishop Guilfoyle) bowled her team’s high score on the day with a 219 while averaging 163.0 pins per game. During day two on Sunday, Nov. 13, she led her team by dropping 576 pins in four baker format matches.

Women’s swimming

Salisbury University 145, Penn State Altoona 63

Freshman Paetyn Zeamer (Manheim, Pennsylvania/Manheim Central) recorded two first-place finishes for the Lady Lions on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Salisbury University, winning the 200-meter freestyle in 2:23.37 and the 100-meter individual medley in 1:17.51.
