Fencing claims second place at NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Penn State closed out the 2014-15 fencing season with a second place team finish at the NCAA Championships March 20-22. The Nittany Lions' finish was impressive, competing with just 11 fencers out of a possible 12. 

Freshman Karen Chang (Hong Kong) and sophomore Teodora Kakhiani (Tbilisi, Georgia) faced off against one another in the semifinals for the women's saber competition. Chang managed to edge Kakhiani, and reached the finals where she fell to Notre Dame. Chang brought home silver for the Nittany Lions while Kakhiani took the bronze.

Sophomore Jessie Radanovich (Fresno, Calif.) finished fifth in women's epee.

Junior Clarisse Luminet (Lyon, France) locked in at sixth place in the women's foil competition while senior Alina Antokhina (Moscow, Russia) wrapped up her career as a Nittany Lion in 14th.
