Women's Soccer Starts Strong, Welsh Earns Another Accolade

Penn State's national-power women's soccer squad will take its show to the west coast this weekend for the UCLA Showcase. The No. 8-ranked Lions will face USC on Friday, Sept. 6 and then battle UCLA on Sunday, Sept. 8. Penn State won its opener with Pittsburgh last weekend, 7-2, in a game that saw senior standout Christie Welsh become the 29th player in NCAA history to enter the prestigious 40-assist 40-goal club.
