Women's Soccer, No. 12 in the Nation, Travels to Maryland for NCAAs

The No. 12-ranked Penn State women's soccer team travels to the University of Maryland in College Park, Md., for a first round game in the NCAA Tournament. Penn State will face Princeton on Friday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. Maryland hosts American in the other first-round site game at 7:30 p.m. The winners of both games go on to play each other for the right to advance in the tournament on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. The Nittany Lions (15-3-1) are making their eighth-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and have advanced to the fourth round the last four seasons. Penn State made its only College Cup appearance in 1999. The road test is new for the Lions, who will not be hosting a first or second round postseason game since 1996. For more on this story, go to
