Alumni bring glimpse of workplace to DuBois, St. Mary's teens

High schools students from across the region caught a glimpse of what the future workplace might hold for them at the recent Career Day sponsored by the Penn State DuBois Alumni Society. More than 400 sophomores, juniors, and seniors from nine schools attended this year's event, held March 26 at the campus. The students had the opportunity to talk one-on-one with more than 30 professionals employed across the tri-county region in the fields of banking, education, engineering, environmental sciences, health care, journalism, law enforcement, and real estate, to name a few. The experience gave them much-needed insight into future career options. "Career Day really helps our students in the career exploration process. As the students talk to people in their fields of interest, they get a realistic view of the world of work," said Michele Pearce, junior/senior counselor at Marion Center High School.
