Campus scholarship dinner honors donors and recipients

November 17, 2003

Last Wednesday, more than 90 people attended the annual Penn State Beaver Fall Scholarship Dinner honoring both donors who made scholarships possible and the students who received the awards. The event was held in the Lodge of the Study Learning Center and was hosted by Gary B. Keefer, campus executive officer. Guest speaker for the evening was Richard L. Shaw, chairman of the board of the Michael Baker Corporation, and a longtime friend of Beaver campus. Shaw spoke about the importance of education in all walks of life and about the ways that students and alumni can give back to the campus, both now and in the future. Penn State Beaver now offers twenty-one endowed scholarships and memorial scholarship awards. During the last year the campus awarded more than $100,000 in scholarship funds.
