May 20, 2004

"The Commonwealth (of Pennsylvania) has incredible assets -- (including) its historic communities, natural amenities and the students who come into the state for education. The role of Penn State is key to the future health of the commonwealth. Penn State is unique among the commonwealth's colleges and universities, because of its (many) campuses, Outreach centers and Cooperative Extension offices."
-- Amy Liu, deputy director and co-founder of The Brookings Institution Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy and co-author of the report, "Back to Prosperity: A Competitive Agenda for Renewing Pennsylvania," during a visit to Penn State's University Park campus this week.
