Health academy students participate in Penn State Lehigh Valley program

In a continuing effort to provide Allentown School District students with meaningful career experiences, the school district and Penn State Lehigh Valley, have joined forces in launching a capstone health science program. The program is the final segment in Penn State Lehigh Valley's Youth Connections Programs for high school students, which is supported through a $240,000 grant funded by the Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, CareerLink Lehigh Valley, and the Private Industry Council. The capstone program introduces high school juniors to a wide spectrum of healthcare careers through hands-on experiences in a hospital environment, specifically at St. Luke's in Allentown and the Hershey Medical Center.
