Texas Hold 'Em craze hits Penn State DuBois

December 07, 2005

Students Noah Bauer and Katie Bembenic, both of DuBois, schemed, bet and bluffed their ways to winning $25 gift certificates to the Penn State DuBois bookstore for winning the student Texas Hold 'Em tournament last week at the student union building. Rebecca Pennington, campus associate director of student affairs, organized the event both as an end-of-semester stress reliever and at the request of students who enjoy playing the poker-style card game made popular by ESPN. Students bet with chips only, and the winners were those who had the most chips at the end of the tournament.
