Fitness Center offers new Pilates personal training program

The University Fitness Center on the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center campus now offers a Pilates Reformer Personal Training Program. The program features personal training sessions with senior exercise physiologist Deb Tregea in the privacy of the fitness center's Pilates studio. Exercises are performed on a piece of equipment, the Pilates Reformer, as well as on a mat, at a wall or on a chair. A variety of props also are incorporated. Benefits of Pilates include: strength and flexibility, coordination and balance, range of motion of the joints, breath control, cardiovascular endurance, mental focus and sense of well-being. Each 45-minutes session costs $35. Clients must commit to a minimum of six sessions. Two sessions per week are recommended. For information, call Tregea at (717) 531-7075 or visit online.
