Promotion and tenure symposium planned

University Park, Pa. -- The Commission on Racial/Ethnic Diversity will hold its fourth annual Promotion and Tenure Symposium, “What’s Diversity Got To Do With It?” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, in the Hintz Family Alumni Center, University Park. This event is being co-sponsored by the Commission for Women and the Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equity.
The symposium includes plenary and breakout sessions, with refreshments and a lunch buffet. Panelists include Blannie Bowen, vice provost for Academic Affairs; James Stewart, senior faculty mentor, professor of labor studies and employment relations, African and African-American studies, and management and organization; Grace Hampton, head of the Department of African and African-American studies and professor of art, art education and integrative arts. Topics include second-year review, fourth-year review, sixth-year review, associate to full, post-tenure review and career advancement.
